The Lucier Family Page

This page revised last on 14 Jan 2005

The Lucier-Hubble family is made up of 11 members now: Linda, John, his wife Jessica, and their son Thomas, Jennifer, her daughter Elizabeth and her son Eric Jeanetta and Jeremy, his wife Breanna, and their son Andrew. See which WEBRINGS we belong to. Let us introduce ourselves:

Linda (Mom)

Mom is a native born California girl, I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and I graduated from Newark (CA) High School in 1976. Classmates can click here for information on and about Newark High School Class of 1976. I spent several years in Rhode Island during my adult years. The most recent news is that I married a wonderful man named Brian Hubble on 4 October 2003 and, with the kids all grown and out of the house, we moved to Eugene, Oregon in December 2004.
Some of the things I enjoy are:
Church
I am a born-again Christian. I agree with the sentiment expressed in 1845 by Andrew Jackson, our 7th president. He said:

"Sir, I am in the hands of a merciful God. I have full confidence in His goodness and mecy. . . The Bible is true. . . I have tried to conform to its spirit as near as possible. Upon that sacred volume I rest my hope for eternal salvation, through the merits and blood of our blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

What all this means to me is that I have a personal relationship to God through faith in the work that Jesus Christ did at Calvary.

Reading
I especially enjoy romance novels. In fact I am trying to collect the entire series of Silhouette Special Edition Books.

Writing
Like most aspiring authors, I dream of writing the great American novel. Maybe someday I will actually get around to doing it.

Needlecrafts
My favorite is counted cross stitch. But I also enjoy needlepoint and embroidery. Unfortunately this is another hobby that I have not had the time for lately.

Music
Christian, oldies, country (as long as it isn't that old nasal twang type), soft rock, classical. In short, a wide variety of styles.

Dancing
Like my taste in music, I also enjoy various styles of dance-ballroom, jitterbug, rock and roll, and line dancing.

Computers.
I enjoy chatting with friends on the undernet IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channels and enjoy getting e-mail. Just remember to keep it clean as my children do have access to it. I also love playing games like minesweeper and solitare on the computer.

Genealogy
I have included a chart of our ancestors for those that are also interested in this hobby. I also have a page of the descendants of John Joseph Busch . You never know, we may be long lost cousins!
For more information on getting started on your own family tree research go to Treasure Maps . Another good site is Cyndi's How To Page , she has a lot of links on her page to other genealogy sites. I also have a couple of pages on my site about how to write a family history. See links at bottom of this page.

Scrapbooking
Just starting on this fun hobby, mostly I have been collecting supplies and trying to sort though all the photographs I have taken over the years. The sad thing I have found though is that while I have plenty of pictures of my kids and their activities and friends (although very few of them are labeled, making sorting a challenge), I have almost no pictures of my friends or activities I have been involved in. That is the one thing I would suggest people remember, take pictures of your friends and activities too, not just of your children.

Star Trek
especially ST:The Next Generation.

Acting
In the summer of 1998 Linda, Jennifer, Jeanetta and Jeremy all performed in the 1st annual production of "Lost River: Story of the Modoc Indian War." The Modoc Indian War was the only Indian War fought in California. We were also a part of the 2nd and 3rd annual productions also. We have also been actively involved in other productions in our local community theater.

Homeschooling
I homeschooled my children from 1985-2004. Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states and is a movement that is growing by leaps and bounds. I chose to homeschool for a variety of reasons including religious and educational reasons. I found that Jon's Page is a good site on the web that discusses homeschooling. Another good site about homeschooling is the Home School Legal Defense Association.

I have had Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome since March 1993. For those who do not know much about CFIDS I am quoting from the International CFIDS Awareness Day card put out by the CFIDS Activation Network:

"Studies have shown that 200,000-500,000 U.S. adults have CFIDS, making it one of the most common chronic illnesses of our time. CFIDS strikes people of all age, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, leaving many severely disabled for years. CFIDS research shows immune and central nervous system dysfunctions. Ongoing research is investigating neurologic, endocrinologic and metabolic abnormalities. CFIDS causes a wide array of chronic symptoms: incapacitating weakness, severe fatigue, cognitive problems, chronic tender lymph nodes, vertigo, nausea, irritable bowel, low-grade fever, sore throat, muscle aches and twitching, chronic sleep disturbances and more. There is no universally effective treatment and no cure."

Unfortunately, like many suffers of this disease, CFIDS has robbed me of the ability to do many of the things that I enjoy doing. Most people now understand that this is a physical illness and not just laziness or depression as was thought at one point. For more information go to CFIDS Association of America or The Massachusetts CFIDS Association .

John (son)

John, age 29, is currently living in Tennessee. He married Jessica September 2005 and they had a son December 2006. John was homeschooled for all 12 years.

Jennifer, age 25, was born in California, on May 14, 1982, but spent 11 years in New England, mostly Rhode Island. She was homeschooled all 12 years. She gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth, in April 2004 and to a son, Eric, in May 2006. She lives in Tennessee.
