A Family Reunion of the Congres Mondial Acadien - Louisiane '99

Bonjour cousins Theriot et Crochet.
In August 1994, the first Congres Mondial Acadiane (Acadian World Congress) attracted over 300,000 Acadians to the land of their ancestors in Canada. It was the first time in history that Acadians were together since 1755. Among the participants to this event were about 5,000 Cajuns from Louisiana. It was then decided that the next Congres would be held in Louisiana in 1999.

A Theriot/Crochet family reunion committee was formed. The descendants of Jean Terriau (b. 1601, Fr.), who helped settle Grand Pre, Acadie in 1636-1637 and the descendants of Pelagie Crochet, daughter of Elizabeth Terriau, have joined together to help celebrate the second Acadian World Congress. The official organizational name is Les Familles Theriot et Crochet. Nadine Theriot Boudreaux is the president and she welcomes all Theriot and Crochet cousins who wish to help celebrate this wonderful event.

If you would like more information on this reunion or would like to become a member you may contact Nadine T. Boudreaux, 7447 Hwy. 996, Belle Rose, LA 70341 or email Roland Theriot.
