My adventure with pet portraiture began back in 1994 when my beloved dog Amber died. I was distraught and felt that having a dignified tribute to her on my wall would ease my grief. So with tears in my eyes I sat down with my paints and a photograph and attempted to capture her face. When the painting was done, I had the uncanny impression that she was there gazing out of the paper at me! I was thrilled! Soon afterward, friends began asking me to paint their pets also.
Since then, nearly 100 homes in the US and Canada have been warmed with these charming likenesses of the family pet.
