BOUDROT-BOUDREAU:(France - Acadia) Originally Boudrot, Michel Boudreau settled in Acadia during the 1630's, most likely at Port-Royal.
The contemporary connection with the Mofford family: Donald Boudreau married Valerie Mofford at St. John, New Brunswick in 1938. Six children: Joanne, Michael, David, Ann-Marie, Cathy and Stephen.
GALLANT:(Acadia)John Peter Gallant(PEI/NB)He enjoyed playing the fiddle and worked in the dockyards of Halifax. Married(unknown). Had a son, Arthur Edger(Ned)Gallant. Ned had been married previously but his wife and young daughter died in the Halifax explosion. Ned had been injured but saved by a fellow worker in the dockyards of Halifax. He married Gladys Irene Starrett.(of Nova Scotia) Had a son, Arthur William; and a daughter, Celina Jean. Celina Jean Gallant married Cuthbert Lawrence(Larry)Mofford in 1938.
MOMBOURQUETTE/MUMERQUETTE:(see Samson and note below)(France - Acadia)Adele Mumerquette married Domineque Sampson(Acadian), had a daughter, Mary O'beline Sampson(Lower L'Ardoise, Cape Breton).
SAMSON/SAMPSON:(see note below)(France - Acadia)Originally from the French surname Sancon. Dominique Stanislaus Sampson, youngest of fourteen children (L'Ardoise, NS) married Adelphine Agatha (Adele) Mombourquette (Mumerquette) had six children: Josephine, Florence(schoolteacher), Nelson, William, George and the youngest Mary O'beline(Lower L'Ardoise, Nova Scotia). Mary O'beline married Cuthbert Lawrence Mofford in 1917.
