SOMETIMES THE WORDS
NEVER SPOKEN
HURT THE MOST---
RED BEAR

STANLEY RED BEAR is a gifted artisan of Lakota/Cherokee descent.
His work is prized the world over for it's originality and faithfulness to the "ancient ways". His work is found in private collections and museums throughout the U.S. , as well as foreign countries.
What makes Red Bear's work so unique? Among other things, there are no 2 pieces EVER made the same!  Also, he has a deep sense of what the
GRANDFATHERS used and how THEY would have made it.  Each piece  wrought with prayer and patience.  Enjoy your stroll through this gallery and see if you don't agree ! --Shanalee--Red Bear's wife

***PIPES***

To the right:
An assortm't of Red Bear pipes.
lwr left corner-"pocket pipes".
The twisted stem pipes are a natural
phenomena. Red Bear utilizes what
occurs naturally, in his crafts.
All pipes are smokeable.

On this one, we collaborated !
Red Bear made the stem and
I "round stitched" it, using
Delicas with an Eagle feather
and Thunder Bird motif. Then
he put the pipe together. The
bowl is deer antler.  Nice!

Beadwork on this pipe by
Rita Deersky. Trimmed
with beaver, its curve follows
the natural line of the limb
it was made from. I think it
is beautiful !

***KNIVES***

On the right is an
array of man's earliest
tool--the rib bone
knife. Honed to a razor's
edge, these knives were
used everyday just as we use
a knife today.  On the left are
antler handled steel blade knives.
Better pics coming soon
