JELLY BUNS

1 cup luke-warm water

2 Tablespoons sugar

2 Tablespoons yeast

Mix and let stand 10 minutes

Mix:

3/4 cups shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs (beaten)

2 tablespoons salt

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon Lemon extract

1/2 cups scalded milk (cooled)

ADD: 3 cups flour, knead in 3 more. Let rise in warm place, form into balls, roll in sugar and let rise again. Make hole in top of each bun and fill with Jam (any favorite). Let rise and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. This dough is very slow in rising, start first thing in the morning.
