BARB'S CARING TOUCH
This page is dedicated to my son, James Lee Wade.
James went to be with the Lord on September 15, 1969.
This is why I have started BARB'S CARING TOUCH. I want to be able to help other families who have to go through this painful experience. And even if there baby doesn't die, it is still a painful experience with a long hospital stay. So, if I can help take away some of this pain, then I can Thank God that I could help in some little way.
James was my first born and he only lived for 5 short hours. You see, James was premature at 7 months. His little lungs were not fully developed. So the Lord took my little James to be with him in heaven.
Barb's Caring Touch is a group of volunteers who crochet, knit, and /or sew, providing handmade baby items to hospitals. All items are given free to infants and their parents.
Each year thousands of babies are admitted for care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Because of the extremely smll size of these infants, it makes it difficult to find clothing tiny enough for them.
When babies die it is the most heartbreaking need that we must provide for. We must provide for the beautiful, tiny layettes for the babies who die and only need one last outfit and blanket to snuggle in. And we make every effort to make the grieving process as painless as plssible. The beauty and caring workmanship of the outifts are a comfort to the bereaved families. Hopefully this makes the memories a little less painful. And a small stuffed toy for the families to keep to remind them of their tiny baby.
