TONI ANNE AND SON

From the distance of two different states, we have built a friendship. We have shared fears , pains and anger together as any friend would. We have, unlike most friends, overcome the barrier of distance and hope to remain friends through and beyond the birth of our sons.

Toni had continued to be an inspiration to me from the first day we met! Her struggles and her joys have become my own, as we both face the same change in our life. The creation of a new human being that we chose to love and cherish for the rest of our lives!

It takes a lot to understand what a teen goes through when they are faced with the situation we have been faced with. And as some see us as disappointments to our generation, we have agreed to see ourselves as the best mothers there ever will be!

Relationships may come and go. Some are destined to be forever and some are destined to fail. I have been taught by my "delivery buddy", as well as many others, that the strength to move on from a failing relationship (even after a baby has come into it) comes from within a mother's heart. I have been taught to ask myself what is more important in life; me and my heart, or my inoccent baby boy!

Months of struggle and months of pain, mixed with feelings of excitement and joy as we look ahead to what we have to come. Being a single teen mother is going to be hard, but I have learned through these many weeks that one of the best medicines in life is the support of a family and the love of your friends.
