Gardening Hello, My name is Shummie and I am your gardening Editor. I live in the beautiful state of Florida. Most call this state the "Sunshine State". I have lived in Florida since 1967. I have been gardening since the age of eleven. I have an Associate of Science Degree in Landscape Design. I have been working towards a Masters Degree in Horticulture but I have put it on hold for now. My knowledge spans a few years and everyday I am still learning more things about gardening. The group of plants that I have the most fascination for is Palms. They are a large diverse group of plants. They can be found nearly all over the world. Some palms can tolerate lower cold temperatures and others cannot. Eventually I will have a section of this site set up in dedication of the Palm. Over the next few months my editorials will cover a vast amount of gardening information. I will be covering planting seasons, annuals and perennials, landscaping, IPM (integrated pest management), Gardening Projects, Herbaceous plant materials, palms, Woody Ornamental Plants and the list could go on and on depending on what I find to share with everyone. I am looking for fellow gardeners who would like to share their gardening ideas or woe's or even a gardening project. I would love to hear from any of you on ideas you have or share your knowledge of your gardening experiences. If you have to share, please feel free to email me at Shummie. I am inviting fellow gardening from all over the United States as well as other gardeners from all over the world to join in this gardening adventure. IT is my hope that we have editorials to cover each state in the United States as well as from different countries. Please email me if you would like to join in on this experience. Editorials, articles and pictures are welcome. *smile* I would like to introduce Gardening in California with Bonnie, Gardening in Florida with Shummie, Gardening in Georgia with Big Sis, Gardening in Missouri with Ruth, Gardening in Arkansas, with Sandi, and Gardening from North Carolina, with Amy. Welcome aboard Master Gardeners!!! Editorials are updated on a monthly basis. Click "Next" to continue.... |
