Joshua 24:15

My daughter wrote this poem for me in 1980.
It becomes more precious as the years pass.

"Have you ever noticed that Ladybugs show up in the most unusual places?
Balancing on the edge of a car window at fifty miles an hour,
or carefully protected inside a sail bag packed all winter long?
My mother often reminds me of a Ladybug,
for she shares the pleasure of a beautiful sunlit day,
and comforts me during rough and stormy weather.
So, on this seventh day of February, 1980,
I would like to wish her a very Happy Birthday,
and share some of the love she has given me,
beautiful, steadfast and true."
All my love,
Susan

RVing to Denver & California

We spent nearly six enjoyable weeks in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia during the summer of 2001. Pictures taken during our trip are posted on my WebShots pages.

We returned to Florida at the end of August, but the events in September stalled my updating these pages for the time being. I am grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and pray daily for peace in the world.

LB on Daisy

Count your garden by the flowers,
Never by the leaves that fall.
Count your days by golden hours,
Don't remember clouds at all . . .
Count your nights by stars, not shadows,
Count your life with smiles, not tears.
And all throughout your lifetime,
Count your age by friends, not years.

A Hidden Place

Each of us has a hidden place somewhere deep within ourselves; a place where we go to get away, to think things through, to be alone, to be ourselves. This unique place, where we confront our deepest feelings, becomes a storehouse of all our hopes, all our needs, all our dreams, and even our unspoken fears.

It encompasses the essence of who we are and what we want to be. But now and then, whether by chance or design, Someone discovers a way into that place we thought was ours alone. And we allow that person to see, to feel and to share all the reason, all the uncertainty and all the emotion we've stored up there. That person adds new perspective to our hidden realm, Then quietly settles down in his own corner of our special place, where a bit of himself will stay forever. And we call that person a friend.
