HELEN

Helen resigned her job as the Executive Director of the Kenai Peninsula United Way in March 1999. Prior to that job which she held for two years, she had been a legislative aide to State Representatives and State Senators. In 2000, she took on the job of campaign manager for Ken Lancaster, then Mayor of Soldotna in his run for state representative. Needless to say, Ken won and Helen went to Juneau in January of 2001 to help get him off to a good start with the legislature. She worked for him until July of 2002 and helped him campaign for the Borough Mayor job in Kenai [which he did not get]

She has been active in the community and involved in various groups and on several boards. She is on the Board and the past President of the Soldotna Historic Society, serves on the Local Emergency Preparedness Committee for the Kenai Pensinsula and is a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She likes people, activities, volunteering, and travel [as well as her grandchildren and hopefully me].

Eventually, this page will contain pictures of Helen and more discussion of her hobbies and thoughts. I hope she will help to design her own page, so we will see (she is more creative than I am, so it might become more interesting). For now, please bear with us in the slowness of development.
