Those of us who live daily with seemingly insurmountable problems need an uplift once in awhile. But then, so does everyone else! My mother lives with us and is blind and deaf. Your thoughts on the things we see and hear every day, and don't appreciate, really struck a chord with me. This past week we had two new grandchildren (just born) visiting and my mother wanted to "see" them also. She very gently passed her hands over each of them and told us she could see things none of us ever would about each child. She also told us that each baby knew, just by the feeling of her hands, how much they were loved and that they were very precious to her. That really made me realize how much we lose by not touching each other. Because of her comments I make a point to touch, hug, kiss, or just pat everyone who is dear to me each time I see them. Our conversation gave the word "see" new meaning for me. Keep smiling..... |
