Summer 1998, I decided our garden was uninhabitable. The grass needed cutting (nothing new!), there were 6 foot weeds around the back which Dad had just let grow as he hadn't got to them in time, and I decided that I could no longer stand the result of endless years of having a bonfire in the same spot (-the result was an artificial hill!!!)
See what I learnt the first time I cut the lawn

Find out what I learnt from mowing the unsightly hill in the corner
Flattening that little hill in the corner was the worst part of doing the garden. I thought it would be better to weed it all at the same time. Underestimated how big a job it was, but I got it done with the help of Sooty who kept deciding to sit on my back!!!
Mum really appreciated what I did to the garden, especially planting the flowers that I'd got from work. She also said the corner where the 'hill' was looks better, but I'm not so sure! I mean, it looked really good as I finished towards dusk the night before I came back here after the summer. Then the morning revealed the truth of the matter... *sigh* Least it's better than it was, though :o)
