There are many Minnich families not listed in this report. They branch from the line of descent quit early and are only distantly related to Reuben Minnich and his descendants. The lineage of H. Spencer Minnich is primarily through George, the eldest son of Wendel Minich, whereas that of Reuben Minnich's, grandfather of Mary Jane McKinley Tharp is with that of the second son, Wendel Minich Jr.. The two lines of descent acknowledged their relationship while in Ohio and Indiana. Until the middle of this century those in Delaware County, Indiana attended Minnich reunions which included Ohio families, when these reunions were no longer held the next generation, grand children of Reuben, soon were becoming more and more distant and uninformed. The efforts Rev. H. Spencer Minnich and Mrs. Jay W. Minnich made in preserving a written record did established a link with the past. They clearly desired that others in the future will recognize, value, and preserve the family history, achieving what is though important, if not to all, to the historian.
