Come on in and stay a while

Hi!!!! I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. Well here goes. I'm MOM3 from HC. I live in Eastern Canada...New Brunswick to be a little more specific... I am the mother of 3 wonderful girls, Lisa, Tanya and Michelle. I have been raising them alone. Thats right ...I have been divorced for some time now. Raising kids alone was quite a challenge.

Being the mother of three girls I found myself getting involved in a great organization. I was asked if I could help out in a Girl Guide unit and of course I said yes thinking it was only for a short time....yeah right...that was 18 years ago and I am still helping...LOL...But this has been a great experience for me...my girls are done in the movement now, but I am still there. I think this is what kept me going all these years.

Another thing that I do and enjoy is coach bowling for the Special Olympics. I just started this about six years ago and I find it very rewarding. In 1997, the softball team in our area won the gold medal at the Provincial Summer Games and in 1998, represented New Brunswick at The National Summer Games in Sudbury, Ontario. They won the Gold Medal in the "C" division. I was chosen to go with the team as an assistant coach. I was very proud to be represent my province at the games. On January 7th, 1999, our softball team was awarded the title of "Canadian Special Olympics Team of the Year". This was quite an honour for all of us.

For the last 8 years I have been working as a teacher's assistant helping children with learning difficulties and behaviour problems. This can be very demanding at times but is very rewarding and I enjoy every minute of it.

THINGS I LIKE TO DO

I love to go on nature walks and do some birdwatching and camping is so much fun and there's nothing like spending a day on a boat rocking on the ocean...it's so relaxing. I also like to sew, knit, crochet, read and lots more.

FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens

We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.

With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.

We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In IMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.

We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.

Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.

Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.

The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.

We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust.

Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.
