HKHAS staffs each ALS unit with one NREMT-Paramedic, and one NREMT-Basic or NREMT-Intermediate.

All of the employees are certified EVOC Ambulance Drives.

All Paramedics are BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and BTLS certified.

All Basic and Intermediate EMT'S are BCLS and BTLS certified.

I came to HKHAS in 1990.  Currently I am a Supervisor with the service.

I am the Education Coordinator which allows me to insure that our employees are current with the trends in EMS that are changing every day.

The State of Alabama has started a program to bring all advanced level EMT's up to a standard of limited standing orders.

My employment has offered me many new and exciting challenges.

I serve on the  COLBERT COUNTY HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEAM  as Safety Officer.

I am an EMS Instructor at Northwest Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  I instruct EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, and Emergency Vehicle Operators Course.

I also instruct courses for the Alabama Fire College.

Some of the courses I instruct are:

BCLS, ACLS, PALS, EVOC, EMT-BASIC, EMT-INTERMEDIATE, ALL EMS COURSES OFFERED BY THE STATE EMS DIVISION, AND COURSES IN THE FIRE SERVICE/NFPA.
