Antioch Community Guide

Community Overview

Antioch is a village of about 6,100 54 miles north of downtown Chicago. The town is undergoing residential development, having doubled its size through annexation of neighboring land. Antioch is a popular tourist spot. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District, and Illinois Beach State Park and North Point Marina, both on Lake Michigan's shores about 15 miles east of Antioch. Grade school-aged children attend district 33 & 34 schools, while secondary students go to Antioch High School, district 117. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-94), and major local roads (I-173/Rosecrans Rd., I-83, U.S. 45). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Milwaukee District North Line (MD-N) in Fox Lake. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 105 minutes. The RTA Travel Info.
