Fox Lake/Ingleside Community Guide

Community Overview

Fox Lake is a village of about 7500 53 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Fox Lake is a popular recreational area, with the numerous lakes in the region. Recreational opportunities include the facilities of a community center, playgrounds, sports fields, tennis courts, and an ice rink maintained by the village. Residents can also participate in the park district programs of neighboring Round Lake. Grade school-aged children attend district 37, 38 & 114 schools, while secondary students go to Grant High School, district 124. (See below for details on schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-94), and major local roads (I-173/Rosecrans Rd., I-83, U.S. 45). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Milwaukee District North Line (MD-N) in Fox Lake. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 105 minutes. The RTA Travel Info.
