Community Overview
Lincolnshire is a village of about 5,000 29 miles north of downtown Chicago. The town is mainly residential, with winding roads lined by oak trees. Recreational/Cultural opportunities include the facilities of a village maintained spring-fed lake (Spring Lake Park, which offers swimming, ice skating, tennis, baseball, picnicking and playgrounds), golf course at Marriotts Lincolnshire Resort and a theater presenting plays and musicals. Grade school-aged children attend district 103 schools, while secondary students go to Adlai Stevenson High School, district 125. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway and I-94.Edens Expwy.), and major local roads (I-22/Prairie Ave., I-21/Milwaukee Ave.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Milwaukee District North Line (MD-N). Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 60 minutes). Local bus service is available from PACE.
