Hi! I'm Clyde The Bird...the lovable, spoiled one!! I'm a Maroon-Bellied Conure, and I was the first bird to come to Scottie's Place 10 years ago. I can be quite a handful at times, but Scottie and Markie are very patient with me. My favorite treats are baked tortilla chips, graham crackers, cereal, and cranberry juice. By the way, I'm the only bird in Scottie's flock that is potty trained. |
| I am another Maroon-Bellied Conure. They call me Cleo...the skittish one!! I was living in a pet store in Northridge, California at the time of the big earthquake in 1994. I was one of only a handful of pets to come out of that store alive, and I've been nervous and easily frightened ever since. Because of this, no-one wanted to buy me, so I eventually ended up at Scottie's Place. He and Markie understand me, so it's a good place for me to be. |  |

Then there's me, Penney...the bold, irrepressible one!! I've been told by Scottie's bird doctor that I'm a perfect specimen of my species. I guess that's quite the compliment, and of course, it's gone straight to my head. Is it any wonder I'm a bit on the cocky side? I came to Scottie's Place to be Cleo's Maroon-Bellied Conure friend. Cleo was very lonely before I came along, but now we're living happily ever after. In fact, we gave birth to our first children in April 2003. Don't forget to see their pictures below! |
| Here we are everyone...the NEW arrivals!! We're Willow and Oz, Cleo and Penney's first offspring! We think we're the luckiest babies alive! We are fortunate enough to have BOTH great bird parents AND wonderful human grandparents. Heck, our Great Grandma even comes to visit us regularly! And I am Shishka...the fearless wonder bird!! A little over eight years ago, I had a near-fatal accident in a pet store in California: I impaled myself on one of the branches in my pen, leaving a gaping, nickle-sized hole penetrating my entire body. I was left to die. The pet store finally gave me to Scottie, and he rushed me to his bird doctor. Anyway, two surgeries and five years later, I'm a healthy little Cockatiel, in excellent condition, with no residual effects of my early trauma. By the way, if you scritch my head, I'll love you to pieces!! |
| They call me Zak...the aggressive!! I'm a Meyer's Parrot. I may not be the friendliest of birds, but I do love Markie a lot. Early on in my life, I was passed around from owner to owner, and I guess it made me bitter. I've been at Scottie's Place for several years now, and I really do think they're gonna keep me around. Maybe I'll get over my bitterness. |  |

Don't worry about how I look in this picture: there wasn't anything wrong with me; it's just that I was only two weeks old when the photo was taken. At that time, Mom was still feeding me, and I wasn't fully fledged yet. When I was 3 months old, I was adopted out to Scottie's friend, Rachel, and I have a wonderful life at her place with my Parrot Finch friend, Brun Hilda! |  |
