It is an abstract of the will of George Towery Ledford; Macon county Wills, book 1, page 66

"I George Ledford of Macon county N Carolina being about seventy years of age...

...my three living children and my deceased son Curtis Ledford..." He then names his three living children: John H. Ledford, Hiram Ledford, Elizabeth Ledford and her husband William F. Pasmore [sic]; He names Curtis' wife as Cassa, then Curtis and Cassa's children: Alison, Mary, Andrew, H, Curtis, Fetcher, Cassa, Emily and Thomas "They being in the state of Georgia and not well known to me." [explains why couple are missing.] dated 16 Sep 1844. Someone named Ann added a note to it on 21 Mar 1850, then it was proved in 1857.

He willed land holdings, cash, and other property to his children. George was a slave owner. A slave named Jane and her child was willed to his daughter Elizabeth and her husband. A boy named Jack was willed to his son John H. The plantation was left to John along with one thousand dollars and other properties. Curtis Aaron was deceased at the time of the writing of the will.
