He was born in Red Hill, Franklin County, Georgia.
Bill, as he was called, graduated from Pendleton High School, Pendleton, South Carolina in 1939.,br> He attended Clemson College before going into the U.S. Army.

After managing Crenshaw's Grocery store on Greenville Street, Pendelton, S.C, Daddy went to work for Life Insurance Company of Georgia for almost 10 years before he died. I remember going on his "route" with him and helping collect from his customers. He made President's Club in 1964.
Daddy had a love of God and you could always find him being a servant in his church.
He was a member of Pendleton Methodist Church and Pendleton Lion's Club.
In his many papers I found copies of letters that shows his love and concern for his fellow man. Most of these letters were written to the Social Security Department or Congressman trying to help his neighbors who were in need. I am pleased to say that he was almost always successful.
Thanks for letting me share with you my father. If you have any comments or maybe
you new him please email me.
