Reunion Highlights

Saturday, July 10

Golf Tournament

During the morning, six teams of four participated in the class's first 4-person scramble golf tournament. The team of Scott Lindgren, Dan Swanson, Tim Woebke and Robert Kovalik finished in 1st place (final results will be available soon). After the tourney, an awards ceremony took place with Tom Mitchell as MC and "prize-giver-outer." Thanks to local sponsors, about everyone won a prize. The golf outing was so much fun that everyone voted on having the event every year. So...look for information on the Richfield Class of 1984's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament next spring.

High School Tour

About 20 people toured the high school during the afternoon. The school had been remodeled about 5 years ago. Although much had changed, the school still brought back a lot of great memories. A special thanks to Angela (Gregory) Ericson's husband, Jim, for being the tour guide.

Reunion Party - Days Inn by the Mall of America

Wow, what a memorable night! After social hour by poolside, the party moved into the banquet room for food and fun. Out-of-towners and committee members were recognized. Shortly after, Mike Amram and his new wife (of that day) Debbie, shared the first dance. The rest of the night was spent catching up with classmates and dancing to 80's music provided by Sounds Great. The night was capped off with classmates forming a big circle, arm-and-arm swaying and singing to Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and "Donny Mclean's "Bye, Bye Ms. American Pie." During the last song, our classmate and good friend Dave Solberg thanked the class for their support during his battle with leukemia. He said that all his pain during the last year has been overcome by the joy of his and his wife's new son.

Sunday, July 11

Family Picnic - Bush Lake, Bloomington

About 50 classmates and their families attended Sunday's picnic. The weather was perfect. The main attractions of the park were the playground and the sandy beach and swimming area.

See ya in 2004!
