What a wonderful trip to our Nations Capital. I sent back to the Family Research Library 24 books, rescued from the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century Library. Since I am a member I was allowed to purchase these Genealogical Books and they are very good resource for our Colonial ancestors, and you may be able to find that missing link. I was able to listen to Senator Robert Dole speak on the World War II Memorial and saw the President General, Love present a Check for $ Four Hundred and Sixty Thousand Dollars that DAR members had raised for the Memorial. Myself being a chartered member of the memorial since 1995, this meant a lot to me. You can get a name of your loved one that was in world war II on the planned wall by sending 10.00 to either Senator Bob Dole or General Fred F. Woerner, USA (Ret), American Battle Monuments Commission, P.O. Box 96766, Washington, DC 20090-6766. I have entered my deceased brother and my husband. Won't you help!!!!

BARNES and SMITH 1860, Bartow Co.From: DURA7MATER@aol.com To:jbelew@bellsouth.net Hi Jean. Still searching for information on my gg grandparent's Barnes and Smith families in Bartow Co. around 1860. The LDS database shows Rowell H. Barnes married Mary A. Smith on March 15, 1860 in Bartow (Cass) County, GA. Rowell apparently died during the WBTS at the approximate age of 30. I know nothing about Rowell's parents or Mary's parents, other than the fact her father was killed by lightening when he was about 50 years old. My great grandfather, Daniel Benjamin Barnes was born in Lawrenceville (Gwinnett) but I believe the family moved back to Bartow with the advent of the war to be nearer to other family members. Rowell would have been born in the early 1830s and Mary was born around 1838-1842 . At this point, I would be interested in knowing about any Barnes families in the county during the 1850s & 1860s. dura7mater@aol.com. Karon Anderson

GARNERS From:BAMAMORRIS@cs.com To:jbelew@bellsouth.net Jean: I'm looking for information on Charles Lafayette (Fayte) Garner and Sarah Catherine (Kate) Fuller Garner. They moved to Adairsville apprx. 1900, from Franklin County Georgia. They lived in Bartow County until just after the birth of their second child. The two children born in Bartow County were Mary Bea Garner and Ollie Dee Garner (both females). The children were born between 1901 and 1905. I have looked in the 1900 census for Adairsville, but did not locate Charles or Sarah. It's possible they moved here after the census was completed. bamamorris@cs.com Tammy Garner Morris
