Sedition Price From: Elaine Hamilton hamilte@rose.net Hello, Jean, A couple of weeks ago I e-mailed you with a question about who the parents of Colista Ann Collins (husband James Monroe Barton). You graceously found out that Colista's mother's name was Sedition Price and her father's name was Wiley Collins. We've been told that all records concerning Sedition have been destroyed. (I also saw Sedition spelled Sydition in some of my great uncle's notes.) This is what my cousin has found out so far: In a claim to the southern claims commission from the Civil War, George Wiley had his brother-in-law James Price as a witness. The 1870 Bartow Co census lists a James Price, 38, farm hand, SC, his wife Mary, 28, GA, Charles, 11, GA, Emlich, 9, GA, John, 7, GA, Elizabeth, 6, GA, and George 1, GA.So, if you don't have Sedition's parents, maybe you have James and his family, and James' parents. James' father may be Arthur Price

FREDERICK BARNETT PAGE, dorothy hamm McNabb, Brantley's debbielou@alltel.net Ms. Belew,I am trying to find information on the surname McNabb. The McNabbs I am trying to find were born in Cartersville in 1907. The strange thing about these McNabbs were that the "c" in McNabb had two lines under it. My grandfather who was born in 1907 was told that if he ever wanted to search for his family to always put two lines under the "c". My question is have you ran across any of these McNabbs? And are they included in your book Bartow County, Georgia, Heritage Book, and what Vol.? .

THIS WILL BE OF INTEREST TO FAMILIES TRYING TO FIND THE TOWERS AND BARRON FAMILIES IN ADAIRSVILLE. Re: Abandoned Cemetery From: MelJJ52@aol.com References: I am forwarding a list of people buried in an abandoned cemetery off Manning Mill Road, in Adairsville, in a wooded area between a new subdivision they have built and a large farm. It is very overgrown in this area from what I understand and the farmer who owned the land did not know the cemetery was there. This area has been left as a buffer form sound and smell between the farm and the subdivision through a agreement between the developer and the farmer. At some point in the future the cemetery may be lost or forgotten. I hope this makes it to the Bartow geneology website and I will post in other areas also. William D Don Kay don_kay@charleston.net Hello Ms Belew, Have recently learned that Georgia passed legislation in 1863 and 1864, whereby families of Civil War soldiers were provided with salt for preserving meat, and that those lists are available for individual counties. I had several Kay relatives who served from Bartow. I hope to check the salt records to see if their wives were on the list. I understand they are listed as either "widows" or "wives of soldiers presently serving." Are you aware of those salt records and whether they might be in your local library?
