QUERIES FOR FAMILIES OF CASS/BARTOW CO. GA

ARD - BARROWS- were in Bartow County, Twigg County, Abigail Barrows b. in 1796 in Twigg Co. George Ard and Abigail m. a. 1811. Two of their six children were b. in GA. Greenbury b. 1813, Marion Francis or Franklin Ard b. 1820, George d. in the second seminole Indian War in 1836. Linda Shelton Bauer, 7716, Pontiac Dr. Pensacola, Fl 32506.

CHARLES BAKER: received from Elizabeth in Tennessee: Charles Baker, Revolutionary soldier, is buried at Pine Log and Rydal in Bartow Co. I am a DAR member and am searching for my Baker Ancestors in Ga. Evidence of their relatives has surfaced in Jasper County, but ,my known ancestors; name is Charles Baker, b. in TN in 1790. When he joined Andrew Jackson's forces in 1811 as a very young Lt., his father returned to GA. Do you have any information about this family. My ancestor Charles Baker married Margaret Frances Loyal of GA and settled in Tuscaloosa Al with the Appling Family of GA between 1816-1820.

BARTON - Olga is trying to locate her Bartow County ancestor. Her grandmothers' name was Bessie Naomi Barton and her husband was George Wharton Hamilton. They married on December 23, 1910. Need more help.

BLACK, Bob Black is seeking information on his grandfather, born 1855 in or near Cartersville, Bartow County, GA. He married Eliza T White who may have been his second, wife. Not sure. He was a leathersmith and worked the river areas making harnesses.

BUCKNER- PARSONS, Susan Marshall writes. The 1910 census in Cartersville, Bartow County GA enumerates a Sarah A. Buckner, 78 years old, widow as living with James and Olly Buckner Parsons. This is my great great grandmother, I am trying to find out when she died and who her parents were.

CONFEDERATE SOLDIER AND WIDOW PENSIONS This comes from Viginia and Karen, The best place to get Confederate pension files is the Allen County Public Library in Ft wayne Ind. For a fee they will pull the files and copy them for you. These are microfilmed copies of the files. They are alphabetized by state, then by surname within the state. They tell me it is an awesome resource. Thanks ladies.

COX:; Hi Jean I'm from South Bartow Co. near Allattona Lake. Does anyone have any info on the old settlement of Etowah Near the present day dam? I have been searching the 1850 Georgia census and found Mark Copper, who was owner of the iron works at Etowah Before and during the civil war. The family listed just under the Mark Cooper family is the Presely Cox family. I believe Presley is my 4th great grandfather, but I haven't proven it yet. I need more information on the Etowah Community.

ANDREW JACKSON KELLY, My gr grandfather, andrew Jackson Kelly, lived on the Floyd/Bartow County line about 1870-1880. His wife was Rebecca Caroline. We think she may have been a Fife or Archer. Need to know. Andrew served in the 34th NC Inf. Co., B during the War. He was wounded in battle around Petersburg, Va., so his Pension papers states.He lot his right arm. He was a farmer and a Baptist preacher. I believe he was related in some way to Robert Savage, Judge of Probate Court of Cherokee Co., AL.
