56. George ROBERTSON SR was born in 1776 near Jamestown VA. He served in the military in 1812 in the 3rd Regiment, Buncombe Co, War of 1812. He died on 7 Jul 1856 in Double Island (Yancey) NC. Purchased 200 acres adjoining father John's land in 1802 for 90 pounds. Augmented this by buying 100 additional acres by state grant for 50 schillings in 1808. He was married to Susannah B WOODY in 1798 in Franklin County VA.
