How To Keep An Idiot Busy (At Least For A Little While)
Worth the Time to Take A Look
I just hope you'll agree with me (he he he)
Here is one of my poems. I wrote it for my mother's friend who had a miscarriage late in
her pregnancy.
He understands your hurt;
He understands your grief;
He stands with ever open arms
For you to run to in time of need.
So lean on Him and do not fear;
He's there for every tearful day.
He wants you to come with your troubles;
Ask Him freely for help when you pray.
God will love you forever,
From beginning to end.
Tell Him when you feel weak;
He's your very best friend.
Here is a letter I wrote and sent to the President and the Congress about welfare:
"Mr. Clinton and Congress, Please Read the Epistles!"
by Sharon Pelletier
When I was looking up some Bible verses for literature analysis, I
realized something. In the old days, when people followed the Bible,
there was no welfare system! When people stayed faithful to their
spouses and men were diligent and girls did not have babies out of
wedlock, they did not need welfare. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 5:8
that it is the man's job to provide for his family, and he is worse than
an unbeliever if he doesn't. Also, in 2 Thessalonians 3:8, Paul says he
did not eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but he was working
night and day not to be a burden to anyone. Taking welfare checks is
eating someone else's bread without paying for it. In verse 10 it says,
"If anyone will not work, do not let him eat." If a family had real
need, or the husband died, it was the church's job to help them. The
church would meet the needs of those families from what Christians
willingly gave to help. The Bible tells us what government is for, and
it doesn't mention welfare. The government is supposed to punish crime
and protect the country, not raise taxes to support lazy or immoral
people.
