Jeff Donald Murphy has, perhaps, contributed more to online genealogy than anyone we know. Many of us consider him to be the "Father" of online genealogical projects, having founded the USGenWeb Project in 1996. He has left a legacy and passion for making free genealogical data available to all.

The time, love, and energy he put into his Muhlenberg County, KY, pages are an enduring example to all of us as to how we can help researchers. May his legacy live on in each and every page we put online and with each and every researcher we help. He will be missed by all.
