Jacob Lanius was born 3 March 1708 at Meckenheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and died 1 March 1778 at York Co., PA.  He married 13 June 1730 in Germany to Juliana Kramer.  She was born 2 January 1712 at Essenheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and died 26 February 1769 at York Co., PA.  They had the following children:

Heinrich "Henry" Lanius was born 21 August 1738 at York Co., PA and died 1 October 1808 at York Co., PA.  He married first 27 July 1762 at York, York Co., PA to Anna Margaret Fischel.  She was born 29 May 1745 at York Co., PA and died 20 May 1769.  He married second 8 December 1772 at Mount Joy, York Co., PA to Elizabeth Kuenzly.  She was born 2 August 1751 and died 26 September 1815.

Edward Wiest Lanius was born 23 March 1832 on Meigs Creek near McConnellsville, Morgan Co., OH and died 17 January 1870 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.  He married 13 October 1870 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY to Sarah Elizabeth Hatzell.  She was born 9 January 1844 at Louisville, Jefferston Co., KY and died 11 March 1924 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL.  For information on her ancestry see the Hatzell Family.  They had at least one child:

Gertrude Avery Lanius was born 28 April 1873 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY and died 29 November 1951 at Urbana, Champaign Co., IL.  She married 11 September 1899 to Oliver Perry Applegate at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.  He was born 21 December 1869 near Corydon, Harrison Co., IN and died 12 April 1922 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL.  Both are buried at Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Peoria Co., IL.  For information on his ancestry see the Applegate Family.  They had the following children:
