   he was "aged 40 yeares." Lived near town of Glendale, VA and near the Chickahominy River & 
   White Oak Swamps on the Western Run; Katherine: Henrico co., VA Deeds, Wills 1677-1692 p. 192 
   is the only mention of her name on Sep 1681

Edward died ca 1771, Cumberland Co., VA, 3 wives, had 7 children. born 15 miles southeast of Richmond, Henrico, VA; died 15 miles south west of Richmond, Cumberland, VA. Edward had more than one wife, possibly three wives; perhaps some of them may have been: Mary Taylor Pendleton,or a daughter of William Whitloe (Whitly). 

No wife was named in Edward Watkins will dated 21 June 1765, probated 25 Mar 1771. [Cumberland Co., VA Will Book 2, pp. 27-28] In the will, he names his: son John, daughter Martha, grandsons Sir John Clay and Edward Clay, son-in-law Francis Mosley, daughter Mary Anderson, daughter Judith Bass, grandsons Edward Watkins and Samuel Watkins, son Edward and son Thomas.

    * Presquile National Wildlife Refuge  
    This 1,329-acre natural area in southern Chesterfield is a James River oxbow that became 
    an island (Turkey Island) in 1934 when a navigational channel was cut across its narrow 
    neck. The refuge was established in 1952. Waterfowl and other wildlife are abundant. 
    Limited deer hunting is allowed through a drawing. Access is available by ferry off

    17 May 1864 [Va. Gen. Vol 17 p. 253 ]Mayo family originated from Wiltshire, England; 
    Watkins family sold the land to Dr. A. D. Williams who donated the island to the U.S. 
    as a refuge in 1951. Mr. Wm Randolph immigrated to Presque'Isle in 1660, living here many 
    years and called it "Curles Neck" (Turkey Creek Island) 
    Harriet: Colonial Families of the U.S., p. 506; she resided before marriage at Fine Creek, 
    Cumberland, VA; Presque'Isle is now a game refuge on the James River. Her tombstone in 1993 
    reads "Harriet wife of E.O. Watkins and daughter of John & Mary Trevilian of Goochland died 
    at her residence in Presque Isle, Chesterfield Co. Nov. 15, 1858 aged 57 years and 9 months"

    & moved to Fredericksburg, then ca 1860/61 he moved to Richmond. Death date may be incorrect.

    3. Henry 3, 2.HENRY2, 1.Henry1)  born 18 Nov 1838, Bermuda, Bedford, Va, served on Wyo 1st 
    Legislature, married (1) Lulu Fingernail Woman, born Abt 1855, an Ogallala Sioux Indian, 
    c 1867, in by Indian custom in Wyoming and they were divorced by Indian custom in Wyoming. 
    Lulu Fingernail Woman chose to leave her children with their white father and went to live 
    with her people. She died 14 Jul 1902, about age 58 years on the Pine Ridge Indian 
    Reservation, S. Dakota. Lulu Fingernail Woman later had several other Indian husbands and 
    had several children, none of whom survived over the age of 21. None had issue and her son, 
    Herman Catches the Enemy died age 21. Her last husband was Roan Bear, a Lower Brule Indian. 
    Lulu was buried in the Indian Cemetery in Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, S. D. She was 
    orphaned at very young age; said to have had a sister.
