Our Story It's funny how life changes so suddenly. As the days, weeks and months pass we seem to get into a routine and forget the importance of what life is all about.. Until, like I said, life changes so completely different. September 11, 2001, all of or lives changed. September 12, 2001, the Nobles lives changed forever.. It was a beautiful sunny day. Wayne decided to mow the yard before lunch. The triplets decided to go out and play before lunch and school. Normally I would not let them but today was different. Bethany needed to be inside while the lawn was being moved and the house was so quite.. All of the sudden I heard a scream.. Wayne ran in the front door, with Eli in his arms, yelling ,call 911.

Eli had been behind the lawn mower when Wayne put it in reverse. His leg was severely cut and he needed to be taken to the emergency room.. We spent all of the afternoon in the emergency room and eventually he was taken to surgery to have his leg cleaned and some repair work done..

On September 15th, the doctor decided that he would need to be sent to Riley Hospital for Children.. he was admitted into the Intensive Care Burn Unit were they watched him all the time. He started whirlpool therapy everyday and about every three days would also have a surgery for cleaning and removal of any dead tissue. Finally on September 26th he had what they call a muscle flap.. They would remove a muscle from his back and place it on the damaged heal and ankle with skin graphs on top.. It was a very long 8 hour surgery..

Eli came through the surgery just fine. He was watched very close for a very long time. For the first week they would use a doppler for pulse sounds every hour. His leg had to elevated for the remainder of his hospital stay and 3 of every 4 hours when he came home. He was released on October 15th.

November the 15th Eli decided it was time for him to walk. He did just that. He started walking without any help and without any pain..

Eli has been a very strong and brave little boy through all that he has gone through. He still amazes me how tough a little boy he is..

He now is in physical therapy and we have him going to Sylvan Learning Center to try and catch him up in kindergarten. We know all that he is doing is probably a bit overwhelming for him and us but we also know how God took care of All of us through this and He will continue bless Eli with his progress and our family being strong for him!!!
