WELCOME to
FROM the HEART OF PETTI

*H*E*L*L*O*
My handle is Petticoat but all my friends call
me Petti, and a few call me Peeps ('cause I peeped
in the chat room; Gradman's Gang, in Neocities a
lot when the eye doctor had me on a "not to use"
basis).

My real name is Diane. I live in Oklahoma with
my husband (The Wolfman)for the last 21 yrs. Prior
to moving here, we were both born and raised in
New York state, but Oklahoma has become our home now.

We have two children: a son who is 22 and a daughter
who is 20, but we are "MAW and PAW" to several others.
*smile* I am very proud of my children. They are the
heart of my life. My son, known on the net as
Blade Runner; has a good job with a major corporation
as a systems engineer, is going to college part time,
and owns and maintains his own home not far from us.
My daughter, known as BEB on the net; works as a
supervisor for a telemarketing company selling phone
service for "a MAJOR 3 letter company." *L* She lives
about 45 miles from us but I see her weekly. *SMILE*

We live on 10 acres in a rural area of Oklahoma that
feels like "NO MANS LAND" because we get our phone
service from our home town, mail from one city, and
the school district is in yet another town! *LOL*
But we do love it here *smile :-) Abuse of any kind,
whether it be physical or mental, child or adult,
human or animal; I can not tolerate in any way, shape,
or form. No one should ever have to suffer the burden
of abuse..THERE IS HELP...

Blindmess or Eye Impairments is a topic VERY close
to My Heart. I have had an eye disease and have fought
it for over 25 years. In August of 1980 a group of 50
doctors told me that by the end of December of that
year I would be legally blind in both eyes and that
my doctor was doing all that was possible. Nothing
else could be done. After some research on My
Wonderful Husband's part (and mine) we found a hospital
in Maryland that was doing experimental testing on
the eyes using chemotherapy. It sounded hopeful to us.
We made an appointment to see my eye doctor and he
agreed; after reading the article and doing research.
My eye doctor found an oncologist (blood doctor) that
was willing to try this with me here in OKC, and I
continued treatment with him for about 1 1/2 years.
And it worked!! My eye disease had gone into a recession
and restored alot of my vision. Last year I was told if
I could go 6 months with NO PROBLEMS they would
consider me for lens implants. (My lenses were removed
several years ago due to cataract surgery that the
medications caused. On visiting my eye doctor he
found that my vision went from a 20/30 to a 20/70
in the right eye. That is when the doctor thought
that I now have CYSTOID MACULAR EDEMA. It was
confirmed a few weeks ago by a Retinal specialist
that I do have CME. Being a fighter, I am ready to
battle this new problem. Cortizone injections in
the eye would get right to the affected area and
go to work immediately, they said. We started with
the first injection that day and will receive
shots every 6 weeks. Until the CME is under
control. So just one more battle to be fought
and then hopefully the next year may bring the
surgery I have been waiting for with the Support
and Love of my Family and Friends: LENS IMPLANTS

To all of you who do not visit or chat in a chat
room I do want you to know that you are missing
out on a chance to make lots of friends and have
a great time getting to know them. I have alot
