Edward B. O'Dell

CANASTOTA -- Edward B. O'Dell, 78, of RD 1, Tuttle Road, an employee of D.W. Winkelman Company, Syracuse, from 1958 until his retirement in 1974, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1988, at his home.

Born on Oct. 5, 1909, in Rome, he was a son of Edward and Sadie Armstrong O'Dell. He married Anna Grosjean on Oct. 19, 1929, in Rome. He lived in Verona for 10 years, moving to Canastota in 1962. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Syracuse Chapter.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons: Gary O'Dell, Houston, Texas; William O'Dell, Canastota; and Edward C. O'Dell, Fort Collins, Colo.; three daughters: Terry Arel, Houston, Texas; Mary O'Dell, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Ann Allen, Ocala, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Taberg. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
