Estimable Resident Passed Away Yesterday From Pneumonia.

Mrs. Helen Theresa Donovan, wife of the late Michael Donovan, died at 12:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family home, 529 Lansing street, following an illness of five days with pneumonia. Her maiden name was Helen Theresa Dorney, and she was born in Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland, where she spent her early life. She was married in Ireland, and came to this country and to Utica when a young woman. Her husband died in 1909.

Mrs. Donovan was a faithful member of St. John's Church and the League of the Sacred Heart. She was a woman of many beautiful traits of character, and her kindly disposition made her many friends. Always ready to help others she was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.

Mrs. Donovan is survived by five sons, Capt. James J. Donovan of the Central Fire Station, Lieut. John D. Donovan of No. 9 Engine Company, Michael J. Donovan, William P. Donovan and Francis G. Donovan; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Amrhein, Mrs. John A. Scanlon, Mrs. William Brixius and Miss Anna M. Donovan, and 13 grandchildren, all of Utica; also two brothers in Portland Ore., and two sisters in Ireland.
