Death claims Floyd Eggan in hospital

Floyd James Eggan, 60, of 328 W. Thomas St., died Sunday morning in Rome Hospital, where he had been a patient since Thursday when he was stricken en route home.

For many years Mr. Eggan had delivered Sentinels to downtown merchants and business places.

He was born in Rome July 23, 1911, son of David and Ella Jane Armstrong Eggan. He had made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John A. (Dorothy) Robinson since 1945.

Mr. Eggan was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

Surviving with Mrs. Robinson are another sister, Mrs. Arthur W. (Pauline) Payne, Rome; two brothers, F. Lynn Eggan and John D. Eggan Sr., both of Rome and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral serices will be Wednesday at 2 at the Strong Funeral Home with internment in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be tonight from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The family requests that in lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the roof fund at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
