FLOYD O. ELLIS, 55, DIES AT HIS HOME

Well Known Farmer Had Been in Poor Health for Over a Year

Taberg, Feb. 20. -- The death of Floyd Otis Ellis, 55, well known and prosperous farmer residing on the Taberg-Rome road, occurred at his home Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock after an illness of about a year.

He was born in Taberg, April 16, 1880, a son of the late James and Julia Andrews Ellis. On March 14, 1901, he married Miss Tinnie L. Armstrong, the ceremony being performed at Whitesboro by the Rev. F. M. Kneeland. Mr. Ellis purchased the former Barnard farm, near here, 27 years ago and since lived there. He was held in high regard and was known as a good neighbor and a kind friend. He was a member of the Taberg M.E. Church and in politics was a Republican.

Surviving besides his widow are a daughter, Miss Nettie Elizabeth Ellis at home, and a son Richard Otis Ellis of Taberg; two sisters, Mrs. George Shaw of Poultney, Vt., and Mrs. J.J. White of Blossvale; one brother, James R. Ellis of Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at his late home on Saturday at 2 p.m. and burial will be made, in charge of J.J. Strong, in Maple Hill Cemtery, Taberg, at the convenience of the family.
