William P. Donovan

William P. Donovan, 53, 1119 Orchard, died Jan. 31, 1948, in his home after an illness of one month.

Born in Utica on Sept. 20, 1894, a son of the late Michael and Ellen Dorney Donovan, he was educated in the Assumption Academy. He was employed as a steamfitter for many years by J. A. Scanlon and later worked for the Savings Bank of Utica. Recently he was employed in the Utica Fire Department's maintenance department.

On Aug. 20, 1941, he married Rose Anna Spohn in St. Patrick's Church, of which he was a member. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society of the Fire Department.

Besides his widow, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Jesse Armstrong, Rome; a brother, Ald. Gerald F. Donovan, Utica, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be tomorrow morning from the home and at St. Patrick's Church with interment in St. Agnes Cemetery.

DONOVAN - Jan. 31, 1948, in this city, William P. Donovan, aged 53 years, at his home, 1119 Orchard St. Funeral services will be held from his late home tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 9 o'clock and from St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 where a solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated. Friends are invited.
