When God tells you that you need to let go of something and you refuse to do it, whether it is consciously or unconsciously, you are slowly blocking the channel to receive the blessings from God that he has for you.
For a few weeks, every time I came to God in prayer God would tell me that i needed to let go of this area of my life. I did not think it was that important and I told God "No... I can't" and would get up and walk away. This got to be a regular occurence, and I continued to tell God "No" and then slowly everything began to go wrong. You name it, it went wrong. I cried out to God, "Where are you God? Why have you forsaken me? Why is this happening to me God? " Yet when he asked me to let go of this area, I continued to say "No"
Finally God allowed my eyes to be opened to see that he had NOT forsaken me, but the reason that my prayers seemed to not be getting answered was that I had blocked the channel between me and God with my refusal to submit my all to him.
Once I realized this, I let go of that area of my life and totally gave my all to God. When I did that I felt a release inside of my spirit, and I felt the channel between me and God fully open back up. Once I let go and submitted my all to Christ, I had positioned myself to receive all the blessings that God has for me. And I know that he has all things under control and that even tho circumstances may say its too late, I know that God says "All things are possible!"
If there is something in your life which you have felt God tell you that you need to let go, and you have not done it, you are slowly blocking your channel of blessings from God. If you feel that you are not getting answers, that you are just butting your head against the wall, spiritually... then ask God to show you what is blocking your channel. Once you position yourself and open fully your channel between you and God the blessings can NOT stop from flowing into your life. Every aspect of your life will be blessed as long as this channel is open.
James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
