LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

Updated February 24th, 2002

My name is Patrice, but everyone calls me Trish. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Yup, this is me...Trish

I am the mother of 3 adults; Michelle (35), Melissa (30), and Chad (29). I have been blessed with 9 grandchildren, ranging in ages from 16 to 2 years. They are Matthew Devan, Joseph Tyler, Paul Denny, Bradley Alexander, Brooklyn Morgan, Peyton Sydney, Nathaniel Asher, Sean Patrick, and last but never least is Gianna Nicole. My quiver is full, so to speak, and they are all such a blessing to me.

I grew up in a small farming community north of Indy called Thorntown. My father died when I was 18 months old and mom had to work long and hard to support my brother, sister and I..so we went to live with grandma and grandpa on their farm. Those were some of the best years of my life. When we got old enough to take care of ourselves we came up to Indy to live with mom but every summer when school was out we would go back to Thorntown to stay with grandma and grandpa. I have been writing poetry for years, as did my grandmother before me. You will find a poem on my site titled "Grandma's Rocking Chair", I have written it from memories of living with grandma. I have enjoyed reading poetry since I was in elementary school.

When John Kennedy Jr. died I wrote a poem in honor to his life and I sent that poem to my sister. When she read it she said I should make a page and put my poems on it for others to read. I never thought I could do something like that but with alot of her help in the beginning, until I learned code, I managed to create a website. When I lay offline too long she gets in touch with me and says "Come on sis I want another poem and there I am off again and writing and creating. This site is made up of those creative burst. *S* I have also created this site to give my testimony in the hopes it would give Glory to God...I lived in an abusive marriage and when I left my husband I went back home to live with mom and I turned to drugs as a means of escaping a life out of control... for 15 years I was a slave to those drugs and definately a servant to sin..until one evening when I happened to pick up a Bible and it fell open. I glanced down and my eye fell on Jerimiah 32:27 "I AM the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything to hard for me?" I said, "Lord, if there's nothing too hard for you then help me get off of these drugs." Within 10 days I WAS off of the drugs and have been serving and praising my Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ ever since. By the grace of God I celebrated 14 years of clean life on September 1, 2002. I have shared this testimony in the hopes that it will give hope and encouragement to others who may have a similar problem or maybe someone they love and let them know there is hope and don't give up.

Due to my using drugs I contracted Hepatitis C and will be starting new medicines soon in the hopes that it will cure me. This is in God's Hands now. There is nothing too big that God and I cannot handle together.***UPDATE*** I have been taking Interfuron shots 3 times a week since January and got back results from test of my viral load on July 11th. The meds are working and my Hep C is undetectable at this time. I will have to remain on the interfuron for another 6 months now. Thank you to those who have been praying for me. Praise Jesus for the good report. ***ANOTHER UPDATE*** Well the interfuron didn't work after all. After finishing up the medicine they tested my viral load and the virus had started replicating again. They are coming up with new meds all the time and I will try something else soon.

I go to Lakeview Christian Center church in Indianapolis. It is an Assembly of God church. Here is a link to our church's website I hope you will pay it a visit. This place is a home and a family to me. We have a wonderful pastor, Pastor Ron Bontrager. The site will tell of the many good things our church does and each week there is a new message from our Pastor on the site.Lakeview Christian Center.

I have adopted a sweet little snuggle bunny and his name is Maxwell (named after my father). If you would like to adopt one too you can click on Max and you will find one like him or many other little sweet creatures just waiting for a good home*S*.

I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and find a poem that will touch your heart. Come again sometime...you are always welcome at Trish's place*S*

The song playing is "I love you Jesus
