Our Family

Hi, thanks for visiting our web site! My name is Jack and my wife is Vicki. Like many families, we have both been married before and have a mixed family, we both have children from previous marriages. Together we have three boys, I have two sons are Justin, and Bret, Vicki's son's name is Travis.

How we became a family. Vicki and I are both 41, and we met through our work. I was in customer service and she was in charge of puchasing for her company. We talked on the phone for over 3 years before we ever met. We became friends and discovered we had common interests.

In June 1992, we took our boys on a canoe float trip, but what they didn't know is that we planned to get married during that trip. It was a real memorable experience. Like Murphy's Law, anything that could go wrong...did! But I wouldn't change the events of that weekend even if I could!

Our trip had been planned for about 6 months, we were going to go camping and float down the Illinois River in Okalahoma. A day or two before, we decided to elope in Miami,OK on the way. We didn't tell the kids! We left early on Friday morning and by 3pm, we were one big family. It was so cool, the boys couldn't believe what we had done, they were going around saying "Hey, your my brother!".

It was a small chapel, the preacher had a double-barreled shotgun leaning against the back wall. We were all dressed in shorts and tank tops, and we had even taken our brittany pup (Molly), who also attended. The boys still talk about the shotgun, they got a big kick out of that.

That night is when things went sour. It rained over 3 inches, and the river was closed to float trips. Not only that, but our kids tent leaked and everthing was soaked. My good friend and his wife had met us that night and had gotten pretty wet also. We spent most of Saturday at a coin laundry, but somehow, we still managed to have fun.

Sunday, we rented a pontoon and went out onto Ten Killer Lake. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. We salvaged the weekend and had a great time. That's how we became the brat-ty bunch.
