The North Cherokee Terminal Railroad is the sole provider of terminal switching service on the North Cherokee Valley Model Railroad Club layout property. The NCTR provide services to most of the "Class One" and "Regional" railroads that are on the NCVMRC. They are as follows.....

North Cherokee Terminal Roster
NCTR has a standardize locomotive fleet of switchers and road units. NCTR perfers EMD locomotives for their reliabilty and the quanity of parts on hand. Most of the switchers used by the NCTR are SW 1500's. The road owns two that they purchace years ago, but due too to the recent merger craze, NCTR went out and purchace several SW 1500's on the used locomotive market. Mostly the SW 1500's are ex-SP/SSW. Just recenly, NCTR purchace several ex-CR SW 1500's for the recent explosive rail traffic and the need for more relibable versitale road switcher unit.
