BIRTHDAYS! WHO IS AFRAID OF OLD AGE?

We have long since passed the big 70

And hoping for several more,

We hope to fish and hunt and golf

Enjoy it as we always have before.

Sure enough we have some aches

But seldom any pain,

There's still so much joy in life

We're sure not going to complain.

There are outdoor activities

You can find them anywhere,

Lots of places to relax

Enjoy that fresh country air,

Lots of friendly people

No matter where you roam,

And the friendliest of neighbours

To welcome you back home.

There are card games and bingo

To play most every day,

Even some good old-fashioned visits

To while the hours away.

There's no need to sit and worry

Of days in the past,

Think instead of today's blessings

Enjoy them to the last.

Though the old sun ain't shining

When you open up your eyes,

Just remember the silver lining

Behind those clouds up in the skies.

So grab your shirt and pants

Stoop down and lace your shoes,

Wish the whole world a cheery good morning

Shake off those old age blues.

There's nothing ages one as fast

As dwelling in constant fear,

In dread of the future

Or troubles that never appear.

So enjoy today to the fullest

Smile at every-one you meet,

Give a helping hand to a stranger

A kind word to someone on the street.

You will find yourself feeling better

Even your footsteps more spry,

And life will be more pleasant

As every day goes by.
