In 1983 we were fortunate to have our 1st elkhound come into our lives.
Elke was our best friend and pride and joy for many years. Her memory will always be the heart and soul of Aspen Elkhounds. When Elke passed on to the Rainbow Bridge our home was too empty without an elkhound in it.

We strive for excellence in confirmation as well as performance. All of our dogs participate not just in the breed ring but also in the obedience and agility rings. Both Rika and Bear have excelled in these areas and Rika's children are currently in training.
When we plan to breed a litter lots of research is done to try and find a stud dog and dam that will produce puppies that are hopefully the best possible specimens of the breed regardless of cost or distance to do so. The pedigrees of our dogs contain some of the truly great elkhounds of the past from the most respected lines.
