Good morning Strong'ies! It's good to broadcast to the rest of the family! :) John here, b 1949, Suffolk, UK. Perhaps oddly, I know NO OTHER Strongs and from my own line, other than a John Strong, b c1940?, formally of Leeds (now p'haps N Ireland) no others than myself to carry MY line. My gt grandfather was John Strong, b c1850 (Northamptonshire?), trade - claypipes, Leeds. Sons Sampson b c1870 (Leeds), John b c 1890 (Leeds). Hello's welcomed! :)

This is Great ! I'm hoping to discover & catalog my family's roots back to Ireland . My parents have a book which shows our family history all of the way back to the Civil War in America . Just browsing...I am married to Thomas F. Strong. He was born in Houston,1960. His father was Thomas Frank Strong Sr. Grandfather was John Thomas Strong. Although this info has been passed down word of mouth from my great grandfather (Charles Gamble Strong) I have not been able to establish direct links to a Strong Family who left England as indentured slaves and went to North Carolina. After serving their indenturement the family moved to (Bloomington perhaps) Indiana. Any info from persons with any tidbits of knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure whether I've got any Irish connections, my mother's family were a prolific set of Strong's from East London. There are so many on the 1881 census, it's difficult to decide which are mine and which aren't. Most of your listings appear to be US - haven't you had much response from the UK?

I am currently researching 'Strongs' from counties Sligo and Mayo in the Republic of Ireland. I have collected a lot of information on the above 'Strongs' - earliest date 1740. I also have details of all 'Strong' births, marriages and deaths recorded si ce registration became a legal requirement during the 19th century - these extend to many hundreds of records. I am happy to share my information with anyone who may have an interest in it. Many of the above 'Strongs settled in Canada and North America. F nally, I am new to the 'Web' and do not have my own page at this stage.
