They came from Northern Ireland to Philadelphia around 1750, thenc to Lancaster, PA, thence to Fredericksbur, VA, and from there to Botetourt County, VA. They were asked to leave by the colonial sheriff f r dispensing spirits without collecting taxes for the crown. They fought in the Revolutionary War and may have assisted the British in fighting Indians prior to that.

I have just found this information on the Berrong's and it lead me too Burrell, Corn, Cheek. My husband and I have a lot more surnames in our GEDCOM file.
