KAKUI!!
Kakui, female Solomon Island Eclectus
This is my bird Kakui. She is a Solomon Island Eclectus Parrot (Eclectus roratus solomenis).

I bought her from Gail Worth, who is located in southern California at Aves International. The page with SI's on it is Solomon Island Eclectus. Gail, and the people at her aviary, also breed the Vosmaeri Eclectus (Eclectus roratus vosmaeri). Click here to see them...Vosmaeri Eclectus.
PLEASE visit her page!! She was very easy to work with, and answered all of the questions I had. I am very pleased with my bird and would not trade her for anything!

Kakui cannot talk yet, but she is definitely moving towards that very fast! I could have sworn I heard her say "Hello" but she never did it again after that. She is very vocal and is learning to like the sound of her squeaks and squawks. She does, however, "Meow" like the cats already.
It's really funny when she's on top of her cage playing with her walnut. She has a perch up there that sits about 2 or 3 inches above the cage itself. She sits on it and then gets down on the opposite side of her walnut....then tilts her head, reaches under the perch for the walnut, straightens her head up, and tries to pull back....to get her head stuck. Not really "stuck", but she learned that she has to tilt her head again to get back out!
