JOHN WILLIAM WATERHOUSE
This page represents one of my favorite painters, John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) Waterhouse was born in Rome, where his parents, also painters, lived. They moved to England, and Waterhouse first studied at his father's studio before entering the Royal Academy Schools in 1870. Waterhouse depicted many poetical subjects, favoring Tennyson and Homer the most. He is classified as both a classical and a Pre-Raphaelite painter. "The Lady of Shalott" is his most Pre-Raphaelite piece. I am not an art lover, but his work moves me. I have pictured several of his artpieces here. I have more on my computer, but I don't have the space here for more. I would be happy, if anyone asked, to rotate them.
