homas was made a "Freeman" of
Norwich, Conn. on May 11, 1671 by the General Assembly. He was a
Sergeant in the trainbande of the Colony Militia of Norwich in
1669. On December 11, 1679, Thomas was made an "inn-keeper"
of Norwich as "agreed and voted by the town that Sergeant
Thomas Waterman is desired to keep the ordynary". He was one
of the original "proprietors" of Norwich, Conn. In
April 1690 the General Assembly of Connecticut commissioned
officers for the dragoons - Thomas was appointed and commissioned
as Ensign for the New London Colony in preparation for the French
and Indian War. On December 17, 1700 through 1708. Thomas was
chosen "Townsman". On December 11, 1704 he was made a
