Hrudey, in his very first time in the ring, took BEST PUPPY DOG 3-6 mos. and BEST OPPOSITE PUPPY, under Match Judge Geri Bensyl (Hearts Labs) at the High Desert Labrador Retriever Club Match in December, 1998!



Then Hrudey and Cathy did what they thought was the impossible! After their first time in the ring - together - they left the San Joaquin Valley LRC Specialty with a FOURTH in Puppy Dog 6-9 mos., from Judge Peter Palmer (Jayncourt) AND a THIRD in Puppy Dog 6-9 mos. Sweeps from Judge Helen A. Steven (Rossbank) AND a THIRD in Puppy Dog 6-9 mos. from Judge John Steven (Rossbank) at the Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Club Specialty in March, 1999!

Hrudey remains "in the ribbons"! On Mother's Day, Hrudey's present to "Mom" was a FIRST in puppy dogs 6-9 months at the Rio Hondo Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show!

June 26, 1999 ~ a very hot afternoon in the California High Desert. Saved by a surprise afternoon breeze, the High Desert Labrador Retriever Club was able to hold it's "No Frills" Match. With Judge Leslie Reynolds, (Coventree)a wonderful time was had by all.

From his "home club", Hrudey brought home BEST PUPPY DOG 9-12mos., AND BEST OPPOSITE PUPPY!

No more puppy classes!! At the Conejo Kennel Club, Hrudey makes his debut in the 12 to 18 mo. DOG class, and leaves the ring with a FOURTH (but I still "feel" like I'm a puppy!) under Judge Mrs. Gyn Gerhardt, and a SECOND under Judge Mrs. Janis I. Granneman!

BACK IN THE RING AGAIN!

In May, 2000, Hrudey received a FIRST PLACE from Judge Cheri Conway (Thornwood)in his first American Bred.



Here he comes! Under Judge Barbara Nowak, Hrudey received a SECOND PLACE in his first OPEN DOG Conformation at the AVKC All Breed Show in December 2000.

"Dogs, bless them, operate on the premise that human beings are fragile and require incessant applications of affection and reassurance. The random lick of the hand and the furry chin draped over the instep are calculated to let the shaky owner know that a friend is nearby."
